For a weekday, today has proved to be quite productive. I racked up another 30k crafting experience, bringing me ever closer to my goal of level 80. But enough about that for now.
I've also been doing some other things today, both so I'd have something different to talk about here, and partly because crafting is not the most interesting of skills to train, and I felt like a change.
I did a bit of Slayer today. It was first lesser demon task I've been given in the past six months! Today I did something I've never done before- trained ranged on a Slayer task!
I'm ashamed to say, that I've only dicovered the bone crossbow (that's not its real name- it's too complicated) in the past few days. Up until then, all myranged training was done with either rune crossbow and bronze bolts, or magic shortbow and iron arrows. But bone is so much better!
I think I read somewhere that the bone bolts are actually equivalent to adamanite bolts, and they only cost 2-3gp EACH! Now I can hit 10s and above regularly, whereas with bronze bolts, I'd be lucky to hit above 3. Wow! And not only this, but the crossbow has a special attack. Having said that, I personally didn't see the benefits in it, other than the fact that it bathes the bolt in a nice red light, which looks quite pretty.
God only know why I haven't discovered this before. I think I knew about it, but because the bolts only costed 2-3gp, I'd always assumed that they were useless. How wrong I was.
I earned about 30k ranged experience, and that task was just enough to bump by Slayer level up to 54. Not bad, I thought.
Interestingly, since I started my little crafting project, a few says ago, I've had no less than 4 genie random events. Normally, random events are just a pain, but the little lamps you're given are actually useful if you have some low levels, like me.
Ever since Hunter came out, I've made a promise to myself, because I don't like it very much, to use any genie lamps I get on "training" this skill, until I get to level 40, when I'll move onto something else. Probably farming, because I don't like that skill much either.
So, it came as a welcome suprise to me to reach 33 Hunter today. Half way through my Slayer task, the lamp that tipped the balance was given to me. I gladly accepted the gift. Hopefully, I'll be getting many more of them over the next few weeks, what with all the smithing I've got in store.
The tiaras that I've been making, all 9k of them, I've been putting into the Grand Exchange in 1-2k batches, just to see if they'll sell. Of course, I never expected them to, and resigned myself to having to sell them 50 at a time to a general store, for bugger all. So, suprised I certainly was when I logged on this evening to find that 35k worth of tiaras had actually sold! No idea why anyone would want them, but no matter. That's more than I'll get at the store, and it didn't require any effort at all. So, I've left the other 6k in there, and hopefully, I'll sell a few more over the next week. Fingers crossed.
In other news, I've also been working on RuneVoyage. I've written the Prayer guide and revised an old Wolf Whistle quest guide a wrote the same day it came out. They're now on the site, and I'm planning to have it all linked up and ready to go public by Monday, possibly even by the weekend.
So, I'm going to love you and leave you now, because it's getting late now, and I don't want to be still writing this at eleven o'clock at night! See you tomorrow.
